Hello and thanks for checking out purposefulhealthcare.com. Just to provide some background information, I am a newly graduated Family Nurse Practitioner holding a Doctorate of Nursing Practice and just starting out in my practice at a retail clinic. I have been a Registered Nurse (RN) for 9 years with most of those working in the emergency department. Throughout my years as a RN I have seen what poor health is and the ramifications it can have on one’s life. Many times it is without reason or known cause. I unfortunately have also seen poor health that can be controlled and a lack of concern to make the necessary healthful changes, instead looking for a quick fix or pill to take care of the problem. Many chronic illnesses like Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, pulmonary issues, autoimmune disorders can be managed by making purposeful lifestyle changes. Medicine and treatments definitely have their place but leading a healthy lifestyle should be the first line of defense.
As human beings we are multifaceted. Our physical, mental, and spiritual being make us who we are. When any one of these are out of balance the others can soon follow. It is important to take all three components in to consideration when trying to acquire better health. But most importantly to make improvements in your health it needs to be purposeful. Without a purpose it is doomed before it even starts. What is your purpose behind improving your health? What is the meaning of the word healthy to you and in your life?
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to help you identify your purpose for better health but also provide helpful healthy tips and information to guide you in your journey for better health.
